The morning started out a bit warmer than usual, and the rain came as scheduled, but wasn’t a problem. The wind felt good and really no complaints with the weather compared to other years. I managed to keep just about the same pace for the first and second half of the 25k. I had a few problems from the get-go. For one, I should have tapered a bit more and was feeling it in the hamstrings. I also worked yesterday and probably should have taken the day off. I work at UPS and load the package cars. I had a rough week there and ended up having a lot of overweight packages yesterday, including three 130 pound boxes! Just a little too much for the body the day before a race:) Anyway, all my training has been good and did many 80 mile weeks. I pretty much didn’t taper till the last week or so and should have been a bit longer. Had a great run at the Strider’s 10 mile a few weeks ago, keeping a 7:06 pace and coming in forth for the women’s. Thought I might have done a bit better today, but can’t complain. A 1:56 is a new PR for me and I am happy with that.
I hope everyone else had a good run and continues to keep putting one foot in front of the other! My plan, to figure out what race to do next:)
Just want to give a shout out to all my running friends who continue to support me and my adventures. The warm hugs before the race and the sweaty ones after are something not to me missed!

Great job Amanda! What an amazing time!
How did it go for you? I can’t remember, was this your first?
I had a great race! Ran 12 minutes faster then last year for a final of 2:23:47
This was my third and by far my best experience with this race! I have three friends who made the 2 hour club this year so it was a great day for running!
Good for you!
Wow, that’s smokin! Great job!
