18 Hour Canoe Marathon

So what’s new with me?  Not much, I’ve just been training for the 64th annual AuSable River Canoe Marathon.

This July 30th I will be making an attempt to paddle over 120 miles on the beautiful AuSable River from Grayling, MI. to Oscoda, MI. non-stop without stopping.  Preparation for this marathon has been filled with paddling in smaller 10 – 15 mile races during the weekends and mid week strength training.  It’s going to be a heck of a challenge but I’m looking forward to crossing that finish line knowing that I gave it my all.

Congrats Matt! I’m very familiar witht the Ausable Canoe Marathon. It’s a family tradition. My dad and his brothers have attempted for the last 20 years! it’s truly a sport for the strong at heart.
