Training for the swim in an actual lake is much different than in my pool! A few days ago I went to Green Lake to do a really basic and laid back swim training. It was a lot of fun but I realized a few things that could be a weakness for me in tri’s. I don’t like to stay underwater very long in lakes, especially when I can’t see! Next time I go I will bring goggles, so hopefully that will help! I love swimming laps in my pool but the work out in a lake in much more beneficial! TODAY I went on a 5 mile run. My friend Annie joined me and pushed me to run 5 when I really only planned on going 3
She is a great runner and really fun to talk too. Running with people really helps me keep my mind of “what hurts” I even talked her into trying to start training for triathlons! I appreciate every one’s comments and info!

Don’t worry, during the triathlon you will completely forget about everything but swimming toward the bueys. When I swam in Green Lake I was freaked out because I kept seeing patches of weeds but it made me swim faster. The only thing different with open water swimming is looking forward to see where your going. I have a couple pair of goggles if you need any.
Thanks Katt, I hope you’re right!!! I am not a fan of weed’s either so hopefully they can be used as inspiration instead of me freaking out! I hope your training is going well, maybe I’ll see ya at a few events!
