Alger Heights Halloween 5K

I ran in the Alger Heights Halloween 5k this weekend!  It was a lot of fun!

There is something about running a race in a costume, and being surrounded by other people running in costumes that makes this race so much fun!  I didn’t go all out and race in a full out costume, but I wore a hat and wig and it still gave me the feeling of fun fun fun!!!  I ran amongst superheroes, dogs, cats, firefighters, police officers, butterflies, brides and grooms, and the list goes on!!!!  Alger Heights also harbors many great cheerleaders who stepped outside of their homes to cheer us on as they enjoyed their morning coffee!

My time ended up being about thirty seconds short of my PR, but I’ll blame that on the cold weather :) ’  If there is one thing I do well in races it is the fact that I finish strong!!!  It felt so good to get out there and compete and it was a good reminder to me of why I enjoy participating in events like this!  I also had a running partner this time and he kept me going strong the entire way.  I think I enjoy having that person there to motivate me to keep going when I feel tired, so hopefully he will join me on many more races !

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed their halloween weekend as much as I did!  Happy racing to anyone who has an event coming up, and congrats to anyone who recently competed as well!

I will graduate with my BBA next summer with a major in business management and an emphasis on human resource management. I am the youngest of 4 girls and my sisters have blessed me with many nieces and nephews! My parents are amazing parents who have always offered lots of love, support, and laughs over the years! I have had many ups and downs in my life, but this year has been a huge turning point in my life. I am working hard to finish school, I landed an amazing job, I roped in the man of my dreams, and I am reaching out to new opportunities that come my way. I was very excited to be chosen for Team Priority Health Champions! I feel proud to represent the team, and I have been pushing myself to make health and fitness a permanent part of my life. I hope to reach out to as many people as I can through this experience as well as to learn and grow myself. If you see me out and about, don't be afraid to stop me and say hey!
