Five sure-fire ways to get fit

Re-evaluate your life and make changes for the better!
Forget all those abandoned resolutions “to eat better” or “to exercise more.” Here’s a goal-setting technique that will help you eat right and get fit.

SMART goals are:

Specific. Make your goal clear and concise. “I am going to lose five pounds by walking 30 minutes a day, five days a week.”

Measurable. Achieving a goal doesn’t happen all at once but through thoughtful, planned steps. What benchmarks will you place along the way to measure your progress?

Attainable. Your goal should push and challenge you, but it should also be within reach.

Realistic. Be honest with yourself about what you can achieve. Take into consideration any barriers you face, including time, preferences, and health limitations.

Timely. Give yourself a clear deadline to work toward. It’s hard to get motivated to achieve a goal without setting a deadline.

    Great advice on goal setting.

You may want to check out http://www.GoalsOnTrack.com, a very nicely built web app designed for tracking goals and todo lists, and supports time tracking too. It’s clear, focused, easy to navigate, worth a try.

I’m a big fan of SMART goals. SMART provides a good foundation around which to build goals.
