Well actually I can’t tell you how fun the actual race was because I was volunteering, but I attended my first all women’s tri last weekend and it was so cool! It was the Tri Goddess Tri (in which our own Robyn Kaiser won the female 35-39 age group!!) and it was such a cool race to be a part of. I had never attended or raced in an all women’s tri before so I was intrigued to see what it would be like. I’ve talked to many people of all different skill levels who had all come back to me with almost the same message “women’s tri’s are great events because they draw all age and experience levels and really create a sense of comraderie”. Once I got there in the morning I could definitely see what they meant. You could see the seasoned pro with her P2 right next to the young girl with her mountain bike or beach cruiser just wanting to get out there and race her first tri. There were daughters, mothers, and even grandmothers participating together. Even a very pregnant lady gave a very impressive race! Everyone there had their own goals in mind, whether it was to set a new PR or just finish the triathlon, there really was a sense of comraderie, that we all can go out there and achieve our goals and a true sense of empowerment for women. So women, if you’re ever looking for a fun tri to do, especially as a first timer, I would definitely recommend going out and tri-ing an all women’s tri. (Boy’s, sorry to exclude, but I think you’d be a welcome addition to come cheer on your favorite ladies). And in case anyone is interested here is the link to an upcoming all women’s olympic distance and half-ironman distance race. http://epicraces.com/tgt_half.html
How fun is an All Women’s Tri?? (Sorry Boys)

I include at least one women only tri in my schedule each year. Just something about them that I find very inspirational. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I agree, it is so inspirational to see the age groups, levels of skill and especially the generations of families coming out together. And the trail run is always fun.
Congrats Robyn!!
