Getting ready

Spending my evening tonight mentally preparing for my first triathlon of the season – Grand Haven. The heat, potential waves in Lake MI and the fact that it’s my first tri of the season is making me a bit on edge but at the same time I am excited to get back out and participate! I am what you call a recreational triathlete. I am not someone who usually ends up on the podium but I love the energy and adrenaline rush I get from racing.

So I am off to run through my checklist and pack some extra fuel for tomorrow. I hope to see other PH Champions out on the course!

I think the biggest “high” for me is the 15-20 minutes before a race, when the adrenaline and energy just builds and builds. Honestly, I get all excited like my 6 year-old granddaughter.
