I’ll be in the Traverse City area in Mid August. My Husband has to work while we’re there, so I looked for some fun things to do during the day. I found a 5k trail run that’s a fund raiser for the Munson Medical Center NICU that I’ve signed up for. I looked for a bike ride and found one on the same day as the run. I figured I’ll ride the bike route on my own on Friday, hoping the roads will already be marked. Where we are staying is about 15 miles from where the ride is, so if I ride to the route do the 30 mile loop and ride back, it will be about a metric century. It’s fun looking around a new city to see what events are offered. I’m my earlier post I mentioned training by Heart Rate, I signed up for a Lactate Threshold Test in August. I’ll let you know what I learn. Have fun in all you do.

If you want a nice ride up there you can park at the state park by Garfield and 31 and ride up to the lighthouse on the Peninsula. It is just over 40 miles round trip and it is a great ride with some of the best scenery you will find in Michigan. You will get great views of both bays and you get to ride by the 45th parallel as well. Highly recommended. Oh, and if you get thirsty along the way there may be a winery or two up there as well. Happy travels it is a gorgeous part of our state for sure.
