Getting Ready for Triathlon Age Group National Championships!

On August 18th, I will be competing in the triathlon age group national championships in Burlington, Vermont. Since the drive to Vermont will take about 13 and a half hours, I’ll be leaving this Thursday in the morning. I’m really excited to compete since this will be my first “big” triathlon. I will be competing in the Olympic distance event which consists of a one mile swim, 25 mile bike and 6 mile run. Since the run is my weakest leg of the triathlon, I bought some super light racing flats to wear. The flats should help me run faster and since they are blue and neon pink, I will be crossing the finish line in style, haha.  Even though I will be nervous to compete against the other athletes, I’m really looking forward to experiencing a national championship race!

Hi. My name is Toni Musto and I'm a student at Grand Valley State University. I'm majoring in exercise science with an emphasis in health and fitness and minoring in French. After I graduate, I plan on becoming a personal trainer so I can help others reach their health and fitness goals. Besides cycling for priority health, I enjoy competing in triathlons, racing my mountain bike, and going on long trail runs.
