The MI Titanium is a USAT sanctioned full and half iron-distance triathlon taking place in Grand Rapids (Versluis Park) on Sunday, August 26. It’s organized by Tris for Health, a group of triathletes who are passionate about growing a healthy community—the same group responsible for the Grand Rapids Triathlon.
So what’s a full iron-distance triathlon you may ask? It’s some pretty amazing athletes who complete a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run. Not ready (like me) to do a full or half-iron distance triathlon? No worries…you can still be part of the experience by volunteering. Two opportunities:
1. Behind the scenes, help assemble race packets and participant bags on Wednesday, August 22, from 6:30-8:30pm at Wolverine World Wide YMCA, 6555 Jupiter Avenue, Belmont, MI 49306. I’m looking for 10-15 people to work alongside me. PH Champions welcome!! Leave a comment or send an email to Cheryl.britcher@priorityhealth.com if interested.
2. Race day (Sunday, August 26), lots and lots of volunteers needed for set-up & tear down, parking, aid stations, transition area, or on the race course. It’s gonna be a great event—and volunteers make all the difference in the world. Go to www.mititanium.com for details and registration, or email Melissa@tris4health.com.
Would love to see you there!

Hey Cheryl! I am going to do my best to get to the other side of the state and volunteer for this great event during the race. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
That would be wonderful, Rick. Hope to see you there!
