What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right? Coming off a great Millennium Tri and looking forward to the remainder of my anticipated events, I found out I have a torn ligament in my ankle. Doctor said no more running for awhile. Devastated is an understatement. I compete to keep my self on track with my training and I train to keep my inner being happy. Now what?
For those of you who don’t know me, I am a very driven and dedicated person. When I get an idea or a thought in my head to do something, there is very little that stops me. But when a doctor says no, then I have to listen. I am making a point to continue with my cycling and swimming (so far no one told me I had to stop those activities) and I hope that once I see the orthopedic doctor in a few weeks, the news will be brighter.
But until then, I am determined to use this road bump to help me re-focus and come back stronger next season.

Aw, so sorry to hear that. I went through a similar stage this past January where I could do anything except run due to my IT band. Use the time off to focus, and re-energize. Not that you needed to but now that you will have the time why not. Hang in there Angie, and come back better than ever!
