I was looking for a way to supplement my running and biking but wanted something that would give me a full body workout and strengthen my core…. well I found it with TRX.
I had never heard of TRX prior to about two weeks ago when my spin instructor asked if anyone was interested in a TRX class. When I inquired on what it was, she graciously signed me up to do a class : ). Basically TRX is suspension training with straps and pulleys. You do exercises with the straps and you use your own body weight. I have lifted weights before so I was not sure this TRX would challenge me enough but since TRX utilizes your own body weight and forces you to also balance it really strengthens your core. I felt slightly uncoordinated at first ( still do on some things) but you go at your own pace and do what you can. TRX does give you a total body workout as I could verify the following day because that were not many body parts that did not hurt. I found a good class at Allegro coaching in Eastown. The classes are fairly full and they are various degrees of athletes in the class. If you are looking for a well rounded workout….TRX is worth a try.
