Feeling 40

I have never been the type of person who has worried about age.  I am a firm believer that you are only as old as you let yourself feel and as long as I stay active, I will always feel young.  I turned 40 last December… and that milestone came and went without a bat of my eye.  I have been running races, doing tri’s and training just as hard as I always have.

But recently, my body has been tired and I’ve started noticing little aches and pains that linger… getting out of bed for those 4:30am workouts isn’t quite as easy…

Do I need to do things differently now that I’m 40?

I’m 43 and have been talking to other friends who are also over age 40 about fitness and aging. We definitely notice aches here and there but it’s not stopping us from running, biking, or doing fitness classes. I think stretching becomes important as we age. Just keep on moving and you’ll be fine!

Angie, I turned 72 this year and I’m noticing the same things you talk about. It may not get any better in the next 30 years.
