2017, Not the year I expected!

2017 was not the race year I was expecting. On July 17 I broke my ankle “running” from the parking lot into work to teach a Group Fitness class! My activity level went to zero in a matter of seconds!

I spent 10 weeks in a boot and then another 8 weeks in PT….November 23, I participated in my first 5K in over 4 months so much for my goal of at least a race a month! I must admit this time off was extremely difficult but with hand cycling, using the rowing machine with my feet on the floor and lifting weights I was able to survive! Not sure this taught me much about how to cut back but I did learn that I can survive without much physical activity if I have to! Hoping for a more active 2018!
