Christmas Calories Don’t Count

Tis the season to be baking! From cookies, to brownies. Pumpkin Pie to Peanut Butter Balls.  But, I don’t worry about it, because staring at me in my kitchen, I have a spatula that says, “Christmas Calories Don’t Count”.  So, I’m not concerned. Of course, I eat these goodies in moderation, but I’m pretty sure that at the end of the day, they really do count.

But, I have a secret weapon. And, I’m ready to share it with you, too.  I am active! Between my Fitbit shouting at me to get up and move, and the daily commitment I made years ago to be a runner, those Christmas Calories DON’T Count. Or, at least as much.  Now, this doesn’t mean that I can eat whatever, whenever. But, it does mean that going out for a walk, a run, or even shoveling snow, makes those calories count less.  Try it. Take a look at how many caloies you will burn simply by being active.  You can burn close to 500 calories going out for a 3 mile run.

So, if you have holiday treats staring at you saying, “Eat Me”.  Go ahead.  I promise, if you’re active, the Christmas Calories Don’t Count…as much.

    Agreed!! All in moderation is my motto as well, otherwise you end up starving your body of what it craves. That can put you down a whole other road you don’t want to end up on. Love that spatula…I’m going to need to find one of those for the holidays next year!
