Chelsea Clark
Chelsea Clark I like riding my bike fast, but when I'm not I am a corporate caterer & student. I have a degree in Culinary Management. I love cooking, traveling, and hanging out with all of the awesome people in my life. Mostly, I just like riding my bike, enjoying the outdoors and being healthy. Oh, and I am terrible at telling jokes--I cannot get thru them without laughing. My mom often tells me I am full of middle school humor...there are worse things. :)
Age:22
Hometown:Vicksburg, Mi
What‘s your history? This is my second year racing for Priority Health, and my fourth year racing. Primarily, I stick to the road, but I occasionally dabble into mountain bike racing. Criteriums are definitely my type of race, Tour de Gaslight and Grand Rapids Cycling Classic being my favorite. I started riding as a commuter after graduating high school, and after my first year of college I bought myself a nifty entry-level road bike. From there I was addicted to riding, and started racing a year later, and never looked back…
What are 3 adjectives that describe your approach to your sport?Competitive, Quirky, Energetic
What are nutritional tips you use to gain optimum performance? Before a race I always eat an apple & peanut butter, or a peanut butter & honey sandwich.
Give us some inspiration!Staying fit definitely motivates me to stay active, if I can’t fit in my pants; I’m not a happy lady ☺. (Most days) I am very driven to excel and like to push my limits. This year I had two back-to-back crashes that left me injured and less than confident. Giving up was not an option because after a few days off I just missed riding, it is a stress reliever, an excuse to get outside and a butt-kicking workout.
What is your single most important goal this year?Get tough :)
Complete this sentence: The thing I love most about competing is______________________.pushing my limits, and finding the breaking point.

Race #1: Queen’s Day Criterium

By tomorrow, I really meant Thursday…wrong T word.  My apologies. Queen’s Day criterium was a training race in my mind, a way I could track where my fitness was and where it was not. I just wanted to gather some data.

Power Playlist!!

Music is an essential part of any workout I do. Upbeat, bass loaded tunes that make me want to dance usually do the trick. Regardless of the workout, music helps me push myself through.

Iceman Race Recap

This past weekend me and 5,500 of my closest friends ventured to Traverse City for the one and only Iceman. This would be my second time, so I was seeded in the front half of waves, 18 to be exact. My goal was to take about ten minutes off my previous years time. This year [...]
