Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I have enjoyed racing over the last several years. Started as a mountain bike racer but few years back joined a road racing team. The training and competition have been wonderful. Unsure I would work out as much but for the racing. At age 60 I hope to stay fit enough to continue racing for several more years or until my children marry and their children take my place on the team. HA!!
What's your history?
I started racing mountain bikes but in recent years switched to road racing and recently added triathlons. My initial readon to take up cycling was physical fitness and weight loss. I love the sport and now love triathlons as well. My fitness remains important as does my competitive drive. I've been on several road racing teams including Alltel/Ada Bike, Advantage Benefits and Bissell. So many races so many memories. Favorite trips include riding in France and Italy. I also loved training in Maui, Hawaii. The road to Hana and up the volcano summit are two of the best rides on this planet.
Tell us about a memorable race experience.
My favorite races include any state championship as the excitement is always palpable. I have been in the state events in AZ, MI, SC. My favorite results in 2010 include winning my age group at Barry-Roubaix. The Cry Baby Classic and a top 5 finishes the last few years at the Iceman Classic.
What are 3 adjectives that describe your approach to your sport?
Prepared, Purposeful, Committed,
What are nutritional tips you use to gain optimum performance?
I eat most of the known healthy foods but pre-race I usually stick to oatmeal with fruit, toasted bagel with peanut butter and black coffee. About 20 minutes before the start, I like to top off with gatorade and maybe some sports gels.

Give us some inspiration!
There are so many reasons we should do our best...one is just because I remind myself how many disabled men and women wish they could compete in races but can't. We need to be grateful for our health every day and strive to always be healthier.

What is your single most important goal this year?
I hope to improve my times in several triathlons and to represent my team to the best of my ability in all road cycling events.

The thing I love most about competing is ____________.
Knowing I have made my best effort to prepare before the race and competing to the best of my ability during the race itself.

Race Season Close??

Can Barry Roubaix race be only 8-9 weeks away?   After taking much of November off and casual efforts  during the December Holidays training has been back in near full swing since the end of December. More swimming and running than ever….trying to strengthen my weak tri areas.
