I just ran a 5k with my 15 year old son. It was his first 5k. We have been training together for months to build up his mileage and more so,   his confidence. It was an amazing experience much like that feeling when you are teaching your child (or parent) how to ride a [...]

What am I going to do today that makes me better tomorrow?

This is what I ask myself everyday. If  I am going to workout  then what is it that I am going to do?  How intense should I be?  Would I be better off recovering from my workout yesterday by eating extremely well  (fueling my  billions of  little engines) and loosening up my body?

Here comes June

Hello again. This will be an interesting month. On June 2nd, I completed the Kalamazoo Mud Run. It was challenging more so due to the fact it was 48 degrees and running/jumping/crawling in 50 degree water/mud was bone chilling. The actual obstacles were rather easy to navigate which was a great idea for an entry [...]

new champion:Short version of my story

Hello. My name is Lou Santos and back in the summer of 2009  (year of the Swine flu)  I  had a fever unlike one I’ve ever had before. At its worst I could not squeeze toothpaste from a tube. I could barely walk. I was in constant fever pain for about a week. It took [...]
