Tell us about a memorable race experience.I have never been a runner. It bored me. It wasn't until well into my freshman year at MSU that swimming, biking and running became my outlet. Everyday I would wake up at 5:00 am and start the day with 500m in the pool and end the day with a light jog. At this point, I was only using exercise as a form of exercise. Near Valentine's Day, I ran the Heart Throb 5K at MSU. As I ran through the finish line, I had never felt such joy. Instantly, I fell in love. I realized what I had been missing all along. Running isn't boring. Running isn't just a form of exercise. Running is a WAY OF LIFE!
What are 3 adjectives that describe your approach to your sport?Persistent. Meditated. Blissful.
What are nutritional tips you use to gain optimum performance?I am a terrible snacker, so I always make sure there are healthy foods around me. CLIF & Kashi bars always come in handy. Grapes, blueberries, raspberries, etc. I give the term "fruit snacks" its literal meaning. I also enjoy trail mixes and almonds. BREAKFAST! Breakfast is key. Start your day out right: 3 egg whites, a bowl of Kashi whole grain, serving of fruit, and a glass of almond milk.

Kansas City Firsts – BBQ, Tris, etc.

Every time I told someone that I was moving to Kansas City, they made sure I knew that KC was known for the BBQ and the HEAT. For nearly two weeks, the temperature rarely goes below 100 degrees. Be sure to hydrate! Electrolytes and water!

Jealous of Life…

That’s right! I’m jealous of life…it never stops moving! No matter how hard we train, our body will become tired, but we should always try to beat life!
