One Rainy Half Marathon

The Grand Rapids Half Marathon was one rainy race!  To have a downpour 5 minutes before the start of a race while crammed in with 1000s of people at the start line is not nice. Read More »

The instrumental person in my health journey

I was blessed about 4 years ago with a friend who was also interested in physical exercise and we started walking together regularly. I didn’t know it at first but eventually learned that she had planned a full marathon later that same year. Read More »

My “who” in my health journey.

This quarter’s blog assignment is a really tough and interesting question: “Who has been instrumental in your health journey and why?” I could say that it’s been my running tribe from Gazelle Run Camp. My running peeps have been a huge influence in getting me to the finish line so many times in the past two years. Training with this awesome group of people has made a big difference in what I ever thought I could accomplish. If you need a running buddy…join our group!

While my running tribe has been a big part of my journey, my husband Jeff has been the most instrumental. He lit the spark that started this all. There is a part of me that seeks out challenges and adventure, but without Jeff I don’t think I would have ever accomplished what I have in the past few years. He is the reason I found my tribe! With the help of Aleksandra at Gazelle Sports GR, he gave me the gift of Run Camp for Christmas in 2015. My life has never been the same.

I’ve also found myself back on my bike. Jeff had been riding for a few years when our paths crossed in October 2008. He got me back on a bike and now I look forward to all our riding adventures together!
