Why is it important to watch what you eat?
- Because a healthy body is best fueled only be healthy food.
Sweets and processed foods can be eaten still, but only in moderation after having sufficient: fruits, vegetables, healthy protein sources, and whole grain carbohydrates for the day. - Because your body is a wonderful machine: it needs HIGH OCTANE FUEL!
- Because the 100 lb racer girls don't wait up for you on hills!
- Because one can't exist on cheesy poofs alone.
What you eat has a direct impact on how you feel… and ultimately how you perform, not just in a sports competition, but in each and every moment.
Your body will only allow you to do, what you fuel it for.
Watching what you eat is not easy, but is one of the most important aspects of training. You should have a plan including training foods and recovery foods, so you body is fueled properly and can recover quickly post race.
If you eat poorly, you feel poorly.
Leaving performance out of the whole thing, it's really pretty easy to eat well. Food and enjoying it is much more satisfying when it's nourishing.
