School Contest Winners!
April, Rachel of Priority Health, and I had a fantastic time visiting the 5th grade classes and awarding the Priority Health scholarships to Madison Krotkiwicz of Seminole Academy in Mt. Clemens and Austin Zhao of Maple Academy in West Bloomfield. Both classes were phenomenally enthusiastic. We quizzed the students about health and wellness, rewarding correct answers with Priority Health t-shirts, frisbees (how cool are those?!), and other goodies. One young boy surprised us all. When asked, why do cyclists wear these tight-fitting clothes?, he answered "for AERODYNAMICS". Wow! Those are some smart 5th graders! During the open Q&A round, the students had the opportunity to ask us questions about bike riding (no, we don't recommend standing ON the saddle to ride your bike), health (Q: what's your favorite snack? A: Apples and peanut butter!), and team work.
This was a wonderful opportunity to get out, connect, and build enthusiasm for getting out there and getting MOVING!
